Abbaye de Cadouin, Cloisters

Abbaye de Cadouin Located in the Valley of Bélingou, the Abbaye de Cadouin is of the Cistercien Order, founded in 1115 by Saint Géraud de Salles. Located in the Perigueux Region of France, it was noted because of the claim to have part of the fabric of the Holy Shroud. Crusades regularly visited the Abbaye to see this treasure. The claim was denied and its place on the routes of pilgrimages ended. The Church is of Romance style cistercian while the cloister rebuilds in XVème century is of Gothic style.
